Events & Marketing Committee
Downtown Hilo is home to many DIA sponsored events that attract thousands of attendees! Black & White Night, First Fridays, Hilo Christmas Light Parade, and cultural events bring people into our town stimulating our economy and making Hilo the eclectic vibrant place we love.
DIA events are designed to attract shoppers and provide entertainment for visitors, locals, and families. The Events and Marketing Committee invites ideas, involvement, and the participation of all of our downtown business.

Town Hall Q&A
On April 7, 2022, DIA hosted a Town Hall Q&A with 2022 Election Candidates at the Palace Theater.
It was a wonderful and information meeting addressing how the candidates planned to support and effect Downtown Hilo if elected.

The DIA is currently maintaining the schedule of banners being installed and removed from poles in the Downtown Hilo area.
These may be located on Kamehameha Ave between Waianuenue Ave & Ponahawai St.
